CASHEWS

Cashews are are commonly eaten in a perfect mix of nut snacks, and increasingly as ingredients in cookies, cereals and as well as a topping on ice-cream.

Cashew nuts have a lower content of fats compared to most other nuts. They are full of proteins, dietary fiber, Vitamin E and Vitamin B, as well as essential minerals such as copper, iron, magnesium and phosphorus.

India and Vietnam origin cashews have several harvests, starting in March and ending in June.

We offer whole grades (kernels per LBS): W240, W320, W450. UNECE standards classes: Extra, Class I and Class II.  Broken grades in first colour grade only: Butts, Splits, LWP and SWP. Supply according to customized specifications, roasting, salting & retail packaging is possible.

Cashews
Hazelnuts

HAZELNUTS

Hazelnuts are are commonly known to be a perfect mix with chocolate for praline, chocolate hazelnut spread.  As well as an ingredient in cereals, chocolate bars and ice-cream.

A handful of hazelnuts is a rich source of B group vitamins, such as folic acid, vitamin E, and minerals, such as copper and magnesium.

The harvest of hazelnut kernels starts at the end of July/August and finishes at the end of August/September.

We supply our clients the freshest high quality hazelnuts (aka filbert) from BRC-certified processing plants. Diced hazelnuts, hazelnut paste, hazelnut meal & praline.

Grades: Extra Class, Class I,

Hazelnut In Shell: 17+ mm, 18+ mm, 19+ mm, 20+ mm
Natural Hazelnut Kernels: 9-11 mm, 11-13 mm, 13-15 mm, 15+ mm​

PISTACHIOS

Roasted and salted in-shell pistachios are used as a premium snack.

 

Shelled pistachios are used commonly in pastries, cakes, ice creams, confectionery and many other applications.

Pistachios are naturally cholesterol-free and are especially rich in phytosterols, which are directly associated with lowering cholesterol levels. Pistachios contain protein and fiber.

 

They contain monounsaturated fat, similar to that found in olive oil, shown to lower both total and LDL cholesterol levels and improve cardiovascular health.

American and Iranian origin pistachios are harvested around September each year.

Pistachos

WALNUTS

Walnuts are consumed as snacks and are healthy ingredients commonly used in cakes, ice-creams, cookies, salads and many other recipes.​ We supply our clients with the best quality Chilean walnuts (in shell walnuts as well as kernels in halves, quarters and pieces).

Walnuts contain healthy fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals such as vitamin E, melatonin, polyphenols and Omega-3 alpha-linolenic acids.

American origin walnuts are harvested from late August to October.​

 

Chilean origin walnuts new crop is harvested during February.

Chilean Walnut kernels are primarily graded in Halves, Quarters and Pieces. The second grading is done by color resulting in Extra-light, Light, Light Amber and Amber colors. The main reason for this selection is that goods can be shelled manually as well as mechanically, whereas walnuts in USA are exclusively shelled by machine.

 

The US packers have a different type of grading. They selected based on colour & percentage of Halves (for example, LHP70% means Light Halves and Pieces with a min of 70% halves).Extra light kernel halves are derived from Chandler and Serr varieties, while light halves are derived from Chandler, Howard and Serr.

 

In-shell walnut sizes: 28-30, 30-32, 32-34, 34-36 and 36+.

Walnuts
Almonds

ALMONDS

Almonds are tasty and nutritious nuts produced in California, Australia and Mediterranean countries, such as Spain.

They are rich in fiber, proteins, vitamins and antioxidant phytochemicals.

We supply our clients with the most flavorful Spanish almonds, conventional and Organic. Natural or Blanched. Almond paste and diced almonds.

Marcona almonds are a type of sweet, gourmet almonds from Spain that is very popular in the Mediterranean region. They are sweeter, moister, and softer than California almonds with a buttery flavor & texture. Sizes (width): Large (S/16 mm), medium (14/16 mm) & small (12/14 mm)​

Largueta almonds has a shape similar to California almonds. The shell is hard and long shaped; the almond kernel is long shaped, sharp-pointed and slightly flat. Offered as conventional or organic. Sizes: 10/11 mm, 11/12 mm, 12/13 mm, 13/14 mm and S/14 mm

Macadmias

MACADAMIAS

We supply the best Australia and South African macadamias to our clients. Macadamia nuts are mostly produced in Australia and South Africa.

 

Macadamias are used as food ingredients in Japan, America and Australia. While in many other countries, these nuts are used as a salted and roasted snack.

Macadamias are known as the "Queen of Nuts", due to size of their kernels and high nutritional value.

Macadamia harvest times are during Feb, March, April and May in South Africa, and then during May, June & July in Australia.

According to UNECE Standard DDP-23 concerning the marketing and commercial quality control of Macadamia Kernels, there are 2 classes: Class I and Class II.​

 

Tolerances in respect of quality (different defects limits) and size shall be allowed in each lot for produce not satisfying the minimum requirements of the class indicated.

 

The following styles could be seen as the standard specifications for international commercial transactions: Style 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Style s.​

PECANS

We supply our clients the freshest high quality Mexican and American pecan nuts, which are processed, to meet and exceed the United States Department of Agriculture's Standards.

The diverse properties of pecans such as sweetness and long shelf-life allow pecans to be used in variety of applications. These include snacking, in cookies and in dairy products, such as ice cream.

Harvest times of Mexican/US pecans are throughout October and November.

Shelled pecans are mainly sold as kernels and are graded in different sizes. After cracking the pecans in shell, produced kernels are sorted by size and classified per number of pieces in 1 pound.

The main commercial pecan halves size classes are:

Mammoth Halves - 200/250

Junior Mammoth Halves - 250/300

Jumbo Halves - 300/350

Extra Large Halves - 350/450

Large Halves - 450/550

Medium Halves - 550/650

Topper Halves - 650/800

Pecans

PINE NUTS

We supply our clients with high quality peeled pine nuts, which are collected in shell form from wild woods, and processed in BRC-certified factories. Peeled pine nuts can be consumed as a snack or as an ingredient in cooking and baking, including desserts, cocktails, salads and hot dishes.

Pine nuts are rich in essential nutrients for a healthy diet, such as amino acids and minerals including copper, cobalt, manganese and zinc.

Pine nuts are harvested in autumn each year.  They are harvested from pine cones which fall from pine trees.

In commercial transactions, pine nuts are classified mainly by size (number of pieces per 100 grams) – such as 550, 600, 650, 700 and 750.

 

We supply conventional pine nuts as well as Organic-certified pine nuts.

Pine nuts

APRICOTS

Apricots are mainly grown and processed in Turkey. Apricots are often consumed as a snack, and after grading are also mixed with other dried fruit and nuts, as well as being an important ingredient in chocolate snacks, baked cakes and desserts and breakfast cereals.

Dried apricots are healthy dried fruits, which are fat (and cholesterol) free, rich in vitamins (especially vitamin A and iron) and minerals.

Harvest of apricots is starting late July/early August.

Apricots are primarily categorized in NR 0 (61-80 pieces per kilogram) up to NR 8 (220 and more pieces per kilogram).

 

Additionally, apricots are graded in qualities (color & percentage of speckled fruits) into three grades: Extra Fancy, Fancy and Choice quality. For industrial uses (like jam making), apricots belong to Industrial Grade.
